Huzzah! Here it is, my first interview with a local community celebrity (according to me, anyway :P), author of the newly released Prophecy of Stones, a fantasy romance with some epic implications. I did a feature on Mishka Jenkins earlier this year announcing the release of her first three books. Check ’em out; they’re all on my TBR.
Support Indie Authors
My name is Mishka Jenkins and I am an indie author with a passion for writing stories that include romance. Who doesn’t love a little bit of love, right?
Briefly introduce your current endeavor.
My current work is something a bit different to my other works. It is going to be a light, fun read with lots of romance and humour. I want to create story that people can pick up and enjoy when they need a good read and don’t want to read something that they have to invest too much in.
What inspired this novel?
Actually, it was partly inspired by a post I made on my blog about romantic clichés.
It was also heavily inspired by my realisation that sometimes people just want to read something light and fun, rather than heavy and driven.
When/where is it available?
It will be available at the end of September 2014 and available at Amazon and Smashwords.
When did you make the decision to independently publish?
I never wanted to be traditionally published, something about the idea of waiting on so many other people and relying on publishers always put me off the idea. It wasn’t until I discovered that self-publishing was an option that I even considered writing as the career for me!
What was the process like for you?
It was hectic but fun. There was so much I had to learn as I went along, but it was great getting to discover everything and figure it all out for myself. The sense of accomplishment I got after publishing my books and knowing it was because of all the hard work I had put in was unlike anything I had ever felt.
Any plans to continue independently publishing?
Definitely! Writing is now my career and independently publishing is the only way I can see myself continuing with it.
Where can you be stalked (links)?
Any parting thoughts?
If you are uncertain of reading indie books, don’t be. I know a lot of indie authors who are passionate about their work, and make sure it of the highest standard so as readers will get great books and captivating stories.
