Because at first the title was gonna be “I’m published… what meow?” but I bitched out of it:
:] Now I can move on.
So, since Procession of Eternity is still in its revising/rewriting stages and nowhere near ready for publication, I’ve been contemplating my next step on that front. The Soul series is out of the picture. What else can I publish? Ah, right – one of the collection of standalone novellas that’ve stagnated in an ignored folder for over a year.
One problem: They’re old.
Another problem: I give zero fucks.
The story I wanna publish is one that needs a little refinement but only on the exterior – I refuse to touch the content. It’s a story I wrote when I was 16 or 17 (trust me, it shows), but I believe it’s important for it to reach its audience the way it is now. If I tried to make it suitable for the writer I am now, all soul and unique vitality would disintegrate into the bleached background of the Word document, merely vestigial.
It, like The Soul, will be available in both ebook and paperback, and more announcements will come forth about it as I prepare it for public viewing. For now, I’ll provide a rough rundown.
- It’s a contemporary/realistic fiction novella about a family, the Greys.
- Mom and Dad, two sisters, an older brother, a few friends and a dead body.
- Summer in southeast Texas. Road trips. Drugs. Drinking. Sex. Life.
- It is absolutely nothing at all like The Soul. Not even a little.
Hope at least some of y’all are interested!
Oh, and as for Camp NaNo, I’m kickin’ my goal in the face. I’m as of yesterday’s session about 1,000 words ahead of the game. Better news yet, I have a four-day this weekend, so hopefully I’ll have plenty of time to write for Procession, read Learning Not to Drown by Anna Shinoda and play Final Fantasy XIII (I just ordered Lightning Returns, so I really need to get a move on beating XIII and XIII-2!).
Happy Wednesday, y’all.
